It’s amazing… this verse has been stuck in my mind forever… ever since last Friday… we talk about love everyday. We claim we love a lot of things, and just about everything… but we were taught “We love because He first LOVED us.” (1 John 4:19) so how exactly did he love us? I was really conflicted on how love felt && what love is… and so we are supposed to LOVE following the ways HE love. so how? There are so many teachings on LOVE in the Bible… but the verse that is always repeated during weddings… there must be a reason why that verse is so popular right? Even non-christians recite it. We hear it all the time… but do we really put it into application to those that we care about and those that we cherish our relationships with? How can we learn to love them better and the best that we can? Amazing how I was gonna share this with my CCF today for devotion. I didn’t get the chance… but coincidentally, Jaeson Ma did a sharing on this exact same verse today. It’s amazing how GOD works in my life. I don’t believe in coincidence, but I only believe in the works of my sovereign LORD. Last week… when the song One Thing Remains, the lyrics “YOUR love never fails, never gives up, never runs out on me” ran through my mind… the devotion that popped up later was “His love never fails.” and today… the same thing happened. my GOD is SO GREAT ! :) We should really take the time… to put this love to application.
My love for you is an everlasting love and transcends all natural affection. As you draw close to Me, that love will manifest in you and through you to others so that your love for others is also unconditional and not based on your needs, desires, or personal prejudice. Let Me transform your heart, says the Lord, and bring you to a higher level of love.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
